The RAF Elsham Wolds Association was formed in the late 1970s and has been in existence continually ever since.
The Mission of the Association is :-
1/ To remember and commemorate all those who served with 103 and 576 Squadrons and those of 13 Base and all those who have served with RAF Elsham Wolds and 13 Base.
2/ To organise and arrange an annual reunion so veterans, both men and women, and their families and friends can experience a pleasant and entertaining weekend and meet and enjoy the company of other Members.
3/ To record and document the history of Elsham Wolds, 13 Base and the Squadrons which they served for future generations and top provide information to students, researchers, authors and family members who require general and specific information.
4/ To promote and encourage the interest of the local and wider community in RAF Elsham Wolds, 13 Base, 103 Sq., 576 Sq. and those of 13 Base..
Membership is open to all those who served at or with 103 Sq., 576 Sq., Elsham Wolds and 13 Base. Members are welcome if they have a link with or special interest in RAF Elsham Wolds. 13 Base or their Squadrons via family, friend or as a supporter and its work. Membership is £15 per annum for the UK and abroad. The membership year runs from the end of August each year. Membership entitles the holder to newsletters and attendance at Reunions or any other event organised by the Association. Ticket prices and booking details are published in the Newsletter.
The Reunion is held on the last weekend in August which is the August Bank Holiday weekend in the UK.
A Service of Remembrance is held annually in November at Barnetby or Elsham followed by a wreath laying at the Memorial.
The Association is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the Memorial and Memorial Garden and also the Memorial Room which is situated next to the Garden. The Room, situated adjacent to the foyer of the water treatment works, is kindly loaned to the Association by Anglian Water on whose site the Memorial is situated. The Memorial Room contains an interesting collection of exhibits and photographs relating to Elsham Wolds and 103 and 576 Squadrons and is well worth a visit.
