Fairfax - Other Personalities. In addition to Sir Thomas Fairfax there are 3 other persons worthy of special mention and who played important roles in the events in the region during this period. These are :- Lord Ferdinando Fairfax. John Lambert William Cavendish, Marquis of Newcastle There are several others worth a mention who participated in the events in the theatre notably Royalists Lord George Goring, Sir William Saville. Sir John Glenham, Sir John Belasyse and for Parliament the scheming Hothams, Sir John and his son, Captain John, who were both court martialled and executed in 1645.
